Take care is a 2024 Sri Lankan adult thriller teledrama broadcast on ITN, written and directed by Anushka Rasanjana de Silva. Spanning 34 episodes, the series features Saranga Disasekara, Dinakshie Priyasad, and Rebecca Dilrukshi in lead roles. Set against a realistic Sri Lankan backdrop, the story unravels the emotional and psychological tensions within a seemingly stable marriage, exposing deep fractures caused by betrayal and societal pressure.

The narrative follows Aseni, a loving and traditional housewife, who is married to Vasala, an executive officer at a garment factory. Though married for three years, the couple remains childless, which leads to rising pressure from family and society. Vasala, disillusioned and detached, starts an affair with Menaka, a young subordinate at his office. Their secret relationship takes a dramatic turn when Menaka becomes pregnant. Vasala refuses responsibility, urging her to terminate the pregnancy and threatening to cut ties with her if she doesn’t comply.



Aseni eventually uncovers the affair and the pregnancy, leading to emotional devastation and a powerful turning point in the series. Her reaction is not one of instant fury but rather quiet resilience and inner conflict, reflecting the burden that women often carry in silence. The betrayal challenges her identity, beliefs, and role as a wife in a conservative society.

Cinematically, the series uses realistic settings—factories, homes, and everyday environments—to keep the viewer grounded in a relatable world. The slow pacing and suspenseful editing create a psychological tension that mirrors the characters' inner struggles. The performances, especially by Dinakshie Priyasad, bring depth and nuance to a storyline that deals with heavy emotional themes.



At its core, "Take Care" is a commentary on the fragility of trust and the cost of silence in relationships. It questions traditional expectations placed on women and highlights the loneliness that can exist even within a marriage. The teledrama resonated with many viewers, becoming a trending series on YouTube and earning the Most Popular Weekend Teledrama award at the 2024 Calin Popular Awards. The hauntingly emotional theme song, sung by Abhisheka Wimalaweera, won Best Teledrama Singer at Raigam Tele'es, further cementing the show’s emotional appeal and cultural impact.
